The Illersapiens www.theillersapiens.com

A member of the experimental band project Stateless, and former writer for taste-making music magazine Straight No Chaser, Kidkanevil gets the thumbs-up from everybody from DJ Shadow to BBE and Breakin Bread to URB magazine for his intricate yet punchy production style.

They are a six piece collective formed of five tough brass instrumentalists (Ben Kelly - Sousaphone, Ahmad Dayes - Trombone, 'Slick' Nick Walters - Trumpet, Wayne Francis - Tenor Saxophone, Edward Cawthorne - Soprano & Tenor Saxophones) and an explosive drummer (Yusef Dayes) who together have started defining their sound and forging their name as a historically significant band, pushing limitations set by the ears of corporate fat cats like Sony BMG and Universal and reaching an overwhelming majority, young and old, from all different backgrounds

To celebrate we will also be giving away a limited number of CDs featuring exclusive Soul Jam recordings, having captured the essence of the best moments of spontaneity over the past year, you need to get your hands on one.

Kanye West || Power || BET AWARDS 2010

Kanye West made a come back to the stage at the BET Awards 2010. He performed 'Power' on top of a mountain top! not a real one obviously. Anyway am I the only thinking that music has been missing that Kanye power? Yes that 'kanye shrug' moment was completely unnecessary but we all loose our heads or our complete minds some days right? Ha ha but seriously I hope Kanye has got his ish together so he come back stronger.

Somerset House is proud to host Maison Martin Margiela ‘20’ The Exhibition, a major exhibition celebrating 20 years of one of contemporary fashion’s most influential and enigmatic designers. This ambitious, multi-layered exhibition captures Margiela’s unique aesthetic and vision, incorporating garments, installations, photography and film. This exhibition was initiated by the Fashion Museum Province of Antwerp and Maison Martin Margiela.

Young as its history is, no other fashion house has had quite the same impact on our understanding of fashion and its relationship to history, craft, commerce and innovation. 20 years on, Maison Martin Margiela’s radical questioning and rethinking of what fashion is, how we clothe the body and ideals of human beauty, is still as groundbreaking as ever.
