COMEDY:

Josephine Lacey
Her first stand-up gig was on the 28th of October ’08 at a comedy showcase in Camden. After performing at the showcase I was given the opportunity to perform on the main stage of The Hackney Empire for the 10th anniversary of ‘The Comedy School.’ She has performed alongside established comedians such as Felix Dexter, Phil Jupitus, Nina Conti, Arthur Smith, Josie Lawrence, Shazia Mirza and Quincy. She now performs regularly on the comedy circuit. 

POETRY: 

LyricistSistah Saffron Mykels

Twenty one year old LyricistSistah Saffron Mykels - better known as Saffy - was born an raised in South East London. With her brutally honest lyrics and cool, calm and collected delivery, touching on subjects that many would wince at discussing, Saffy expresses herself through poetry and songwriting and singing. 

G.R.E.E.D.S
Performance poet, G.R.E.E.D.S (Generating Rhymes to Engage the EnlighteneD Soul) has been performing in the circuit (underground/open mic) for three years, writing from roughly 11 (now 25.) His aim is to bring some awareness of Spoken word on a much broader scale. His style combines music with poetry. Last year he ventured in completing his own album followed by a launch. Coming into this year he is still fully believes in branching out a lot more and being one of many to fly the flag of the Art form.

Jay Bernard
Author of Your Sign is Cuckoo, Girl (2007), which was the poetry book society's pamphlet choice for summer 2008. She was recently poet in residence on allotments in London and Oxford, and at the Benenden School in Kent. She has read her work on radio shows such as The Verb, The Green Room and the Today Show; and appeared at venues from Trafalgar Square and Shakespeare's Globe, at festivals such as Vienna Lit in Austria and Latitude. brrnrrd.wordpress.com.

Poejazzi, as part of its Year of the Poet season, triumphantly returns to the E4 Udderbelly; this time featuring Yungun - the internationally-acclaimed wordsmith praised by Zane Lowe and Mark Ronson, and who has supported Slum Village and De La Soul – with a live band and his brilliant upcoming album, “Middleman”; fast-rising band Benin City, whose Outkast-meets-James Brown sound is highly-rated by Xfm, BBC6 Music, SoccerAM and Reuters - and Inua Ellams, whose stellar one-man poetry show recently completed ten dates at The National Theatre. Hosted by exceptional new singer-songwriter Lail Arad.

Blessed Souls - January edition



Blessed Souls is back again and this time around they're taking things up a step but still with the same cool vibe. "If you've never attended Blessed Souls it's an open mic show that's all about you enjoying yourself with no drama included just good vibes all around. With the host Adelaide Mackenzie and the house band known to the regulars as the 'Mac Band' you're bound to have a great time."
This month's takes place at Blend Bar in South London on the 22nd January.


Tickets are £5 on the door and there is an advance guest list.

Hosted by singing sensation, Marlon Conton (the birthday boy), alongside the amazing live band, Soul Liberation Funk, they set Southside Soul ablaze every Wednesday evening with their fabulous, raw UK talent, which warms your senses and blows you away.
Each week, you can expect to hear feature performances by some of the finest artists the UK has to offer, as well as a host of passionate Singers, Poets and Rappers on the open mic. If you think you have what it takes and would like to share your skills, arrive early to put your name on the list.  
Southside Bar has a fantastic and varied menu, including burgers and sandwiches at reasonable prices, complimented by Happy Hour between 5-8pm with the kitchen taking orders until 10pm.

Xei (pronounced Shay) | Singer, Songwriter, Musician & Producer
XEI (pronounced Shay) has performed at various shows in and around London , including Oh! Bar, SE1 Club, Rum Punch and The Afro Hair & Beauty Live show, to name just a few.  Singing since the age of six, she describes her style as eclectic and comes from a very musical family, citing this as the basis for her multiple musical talents.

Live Vibe..........

Live Vibe has been a huge success over the past few months in our studio theatre, providing a fantastic platform for up-and-coming talent to present work at Sadler's Wells. The show is a great opportunity for young artists from the worlds of dance, music, spoken word and more to perform in a professional environment during the early stages of their careers.

This one-off show at the 
Mermaid Theatre features some of the best acts who have performed at Live Vibe this year, plus exclusive appearances from UK street dance giants Boy Blue and Zoonation.

With plenty of audience interaction, 
Live Vibe is an eclectic and fun evening of entertainment hosted byHakeem "Mr Impact" Onibudo and Annaliese Dayes(Britain’s Next Top Model).
